The time of nine

This choreographic research starts from a number, nine, the last single digit, and thus embodies the strength of all the numbers that precede it.

The 9 contains the dual concept of beginning and end. It symbolizes the phase that precedes a new rebirth, the release from previous constraints to move to a new level. The two dancers have focused their choreographic research on movement scores that intertwine with continuous changes in difficulty level, creating a movement alphabet related to the ninth letter of the Hebrew alphabet: Thet. This letter means Matrix, or the accumulated force that is about to be utilized. It is the only letter that is graphically open upwards and represents change, transformation towards its complete realization. Nine is considered both a masculine and feminine number. Each of us harbors within a masculine energy and a feminine energy. If you are aligned at every moment with both parts, you notice it: you are able to trust your intuition, you know when to play offense and when to stay on defense, you are master of your rhythms and are not afraid to listen to them. Similarly, it’s easy to tell when you’re misaligned: you live in a way that is hard for you to manage, because you pretend to be someone you’re not, and you take on more burdens than you can handle. This is translated into choreography with games of weight and imbalances that become a leitmotif of the stylistic figure.
