Realization of the first study of the Germany-Italy-Africa collaboration for the Bridges project, an international cultural and identity bridge.
The work was carried out starting from the concept of identity and self-development, focusing on the research dedicated to the fragmentation and loss of the self and one’s memory, the life baggage of our ego, which first fragments and then slowly rolls away, disintegrating and exposing us naked before the world, until reaching the total loss of the self and one’s own history. Hence the subtitle SCHEGGE, which means splinters, fragments of mirror or fragmented and chipped images of memories that surface autonomously and devoid of real logic, to our mind. Pieces of images that reflect a part of our body, a snippet of our thought, a brief and broken emotion, an element of our beauty; finally, the nature of a people, elements of sociability that cross history.
Often what happens in the world around us is nothing but a reflection of what lives inside ourselves. If we want to understand what happens in the world around us and the why of life’s events, we just have to listen to ourselves and what drives us to act in a certain way rather than another.
